The technician who came to pick up our two Oriental rugs charged us a flat fee of $300 total and marked on the tax line "0." We gave her our credit card, she called it in, and took the rugs. She agreed to have the fringe combed and trimmed, to add "Ultra Shield" for free, and to deliver the rugs wrapped for storage since we are in the process of moving. Six days later, the rugs were delivered and the delivery man said we owed $24.75 for tax. He would not leave us the rugs until we paid this. So I gave him the credit card number and said I would handle it with customer service. Meanwhile, the rugs were sitting on the tailgate of his pickup truck on this muggy, drizzly morning. They were not wrapped. I helped the tech bring the rugs into my house and he left. I unrolled the rugs to examine them. They were not clean. I mean, they had all sorts of debris stuck to them--even sequins!--and one of them was still damp on the edges. The fringe had not been trimmed or combed. There was a manufacturer's tag stuck to the bottom of one of them that did NOT even belong to my rug! (It described a 3x5 rug, and mine is 8x11.) I immediately called the Kiwi HQ here in Dallas and asked to speak to the top person. Of course, that person was conveniently not in. I then asked to speak to the top person IN THE BUILDING AT THAT TIME, and was patched through to a man who called himself the sales manager. He listened to my story and agreed to reverse the charge for tax; however, he said the additional services I was promised by my technician were not available through Kiwi. And not surprisingly, that technician no longer works at Kiwi. I wish I had found this Web site before I agreed to let this horrible company touch my good rugs. I would have decided to steam clean and vacuum them myself.

My service was excellent! As a matter fact when I have my next service I want Eric (oriental rug cleaning technician) to come back to my home and no one else! He did the most incredible job of anyone that has ever been here before and we have been using Kiwi since 2003. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with my ORIENTAL RUG cleaning it was excellent! 

 

I recommend other people to use Kiwi Services for best results.

These guys go through employee's like crap through a goose.When I worked their we would charge these huge oriental rug fees, bring them back to the warehouse, throw them on the floor and clean them the way we clean a normal carpet, or send it out to a oriental rug cleaner you could have found. This company will rip you off. I'm surprised their aren't a large number of complaints.

Comments on Kiwi did not clean our Oriental rugs properly and charged more on delivery.
